
World Mental Health Day: Govt keen on enhancing mental health services

The government is committed to enhancing mental health and wellness of Kenyans by ensuring the services are available and accessible to all.
Dr. Catherine Mutisya, Senior Psychiatrist at the Ministry of Health says 1in every 4 persons need mental health care at any one time adding that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact due to changes in daily lives.
According to Dr. Catherine, the government is set to put up new mental health facilities to meet the rising need of the services which will include renovating the existing facilities.
