Dominic Perrottet ‘targeted’ in media ‘largely on the basis of his Catholicism’: Kenny

Sky News host Chris Kenny says a “focus” on Dominic Perrottet’s religion and number of children has been “pretty common” across the media.
The Sydney Morning Herald published an opinion piece which “targets” the likely soon to be NSW Premier “largely on the basis of his Catholicism,” according to Mr Kenny.
“It says Perrottet is a highly conservative Catholic with views representing the most extreme end of those in this rigidly male-dominated institutional church,” he said.
“The ABC couldn’t resist religion on this topic either, highlighting Perrottet's religious beliefs and saying he belonged to Catholic group Opus Dei which it described as a ‘sect’ of all things, tied to secretive dealings apparently.
“The West Australian tweeted that he is ‘hard right’ and a Catholic with six children, oh and he's bad for Western Australia as well apparently.
“Some consistency here would be useful from these people.”
